December 8th is Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day

The holiday known as “Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day” first appeared in 2007, or should I say 42 years from now?

Out of all the holidays, December 8th has to be one of my favorites because it’s Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day!

The origins of this holiday are unknown, but we do know that it dates back to 2007.

To celebrate this holiday, you have to dress up in a time traveler costume and wear it for the entire day.

The only catch is that you can’t reveal that you’re a time traveler, you have to let others figure it out!

So, how can you convincingly celebrate this holiday?

Choose Your Time Period

When selecting a time period, you have to decide if you want to travel to the future or the past.

You could wear your grandpa’s old clothes, walk into a café, ask the waitress for the date, and then jump up and down yelling “It worked! I did it! By love, I did it!” before running out into the street to tell everyone that it worked!

Alternatively, you could grab some LED lights and hot glue them to your neon jacket to become a high-tech cyborg from the year 2849.

The possibilities are endless!

Get Your Friends Involved

Why not get a group of friends together, dress up in matching period clothes, and confuse everyone you meet?

You could dress up as gold prospectors and ask if there’s any gold around here.

If you really want to take it to the next level, you and your friends could dress up as different Doctor Who characters!

How To Confuse People

The best way to celebrate this holiday is to mess with people using technology.

Dress up as a medieval knight and run halfway across the road before running back to the curb, proclaiming that you’re terrified of the “iron horses.”

If you want to take it in the opposite direction, ask a bartender for a couple of glasses of blue milk.

Remember, if you’re going to go futuristic, you need an awesome costume to go with it.

Sitting on the bus in plain clothes, scoffing at people’s iPhones because wireless mind-to-mind communication hasn’t been invented yet, is just plain weird no matter what day it is.

Whatever you do, make sure you do it in style, whether that’s the 1920s or the 2200s!
